WOMEN WITH SHEA
EMPOWERING
Shea was a natural choice; it is “women’s gold” in these communities and generates income for their families. Shea empowers more than 600,000 women in northern Ghana and plays an important role in their economic development. In the Upper West Region, revenues from shea butter contribute to more than half the annual income of some households.
Shea is also a source of beauty and health. Its benefits through food, cosmetics, cleaning, and healing products are priceless. It nourishes, softens, smooths, heals, and rejuvenates.

OUR STORY
During the exciting years our founder spent supporting agriculture in northern Ghana, the urge to do business within these vibrant and resilient rural communities grew. Above all grew the desire to form a bond with the strong women who are the seeds and souls of agriculture.

MEET OUR COMMUNITIES
Our dedicated agents support our cooperatives of women collectors and processors. As trusted members of their communities, these agents ensure that every collector and processor has the necessary resources to be productive and earn a living.
HOW WE WORK
Mybodytree works within the entire shea ecosystem. We partner with cooperatives of women shea producers, aggregators, manufacturers, distributors, community leaders, NGOs and development projects to supply the best shea butter. In doing so, we promote socially impactful activities and an enterprising mindset so that women, men and youth in rural northern Ghana have better lives.
